Expedia Cruise Ship Centers has just come out with a great chance to win 1 of 25 free cruises with Norwegian Cruise Lines! Simply fill out the on-line ballot and wait for the call.

The Contest

By entering via the online ballot between September 4, 2013 and October 31, 2013, you have the chance to win a three night cruise to the Bahamas onboard the Norwegian Sky. The cruise will depart from Miami, Florida on a Friday at 5pm and return to Miami on Monday morning at 7am.

A winner will be drawn each and every day for 25 days, starting on October 8. The available cruises run between May 2, 2014 and December 12, 2014, so winners aren’t subject to time restraints. The winner will be awarded a cruise for two, with accommodations in an interior stateroom. The prize is the cruise only and does not include airfare, hotel or transfers to and from the ship. It also does not include gratuities on board.

The Cruise

The Norwegian Sky is based out of Miami, Florida for the foreseeable future, running alternating three and four night cruises to the Bahamas. The three night itinerary always embarks on a Friday evening at 5pm and return to Miami on Monday morning at 7am. She makes two port calls in between.

The Sky makes her first port call at Nassau, Bahamas on the Saturday. She arrives at 8am and departs at 5pm, allowing for a full day of activity in this vibrant city.

On Sunday, the ship stops at Great Stirrup Cay, again from 8am to 5pm. Great Stirrup Cay is a small island in the Berry Islands of the Bahamas. The island was purchased by Norwegian Cruise Line back in 1977 and is a private tropical paradise.

The Ship

The Norwegian Sky originally was to be the Costa Olympia and work on the hull began back in 1993. When she was finally completed in 1999, the ship had been purchased along the way by NCL and renamed the Sky. Her maiden voyage took place in August, 1999.

The Sky is a medium sized cruise ship with a gross tonnage of 77,104. She’s 252 metres or 828 feet long and has 12 decks with nine accessible to passengers. The capacity onboard is for around 2,000 passengers with 800 crew to run the show. Between 2004 and 2008, the ship ran under the name of Pride of Hawaii.
