A hidden treasure in southern Ontario that is both free and majestic is Hoggs Falls. The 25 foot high water fall is located just a few kilometers to the northeast of Flesherton, Ontario. Flesherton is located on highway 10 northwest of Toronto / Brampton, around halfway between Orangeville and Owen Sound.

The trail at Hoggs Falls follows the upper edge of the ‘canyon’. However, just past the waterfall, there is a natural, but steep and constantly wet, staircase to get down to water level. There are ropes to help with the climb down. The ground below the waterfall is rocky, wet and slippery so extra caution should be taken. It is well worth the effort, though, to get to the base of the falls to feel and hear the strength of this natural wonder.
