For me, it started in 2007. Prior to that, I would have never even considered Cuba as a vacation destination. I knew nothing about Cuba Resorts but I had an impression in my mind that they simply couldn’t be very good. The country was a poor, communist dictatorship that we were supposed to hate because our neighbours to the south told us to.
Well, my impression of this Caribbean island country changed pretty quick after arriving for the first time. Yes, the people were cut off from the rest of the world, forced to embrace the glory of 1959. But, that didn’t mean the people were ‘evil’. And, in no way did the oppression reach you, the paying tourist.
Since, I have been to nine Cuba all-inclusive resorts, and counting. That number may, or may not, increase in the early parts of 2019. We have never visited the same resort twice and have rarely visited the same region twice. I think this gives us a broad prospective of the country and what it has to offer.
