One stay. Two stays. Spend it your way. Just two stays at any Choice Hotels property (more details on that below) and you get a $50 gift card? Sounds sweet. But, is it for real?
Yes. Two stays will potentially get you a $50 gift card. When I first saw this promotion, I thought, “Cool! Two nights gets you $50 towards your next stay!” Well, that’s not quite exactly the case. Thus, the big asterix in the promo material.

How it should actually read is, “Stay two separate visits at most Choice Hotels. After every second visit from May to August, you will be awarded from 5,000 to 8,000 bonus points in order to have enough in your account to redeem a gift card from one of our retail partners. Our participating retail partners have reduced the number of points needed for a $50 gift from 16,000 points to 8,000 points until September 30, 2019.”
So, the thing you need to focus on is that a gift card through the Choice Privileges rewards program has been reduced by 50% until September 30, 2019. And, that’s a pretty good deal.

From May 7, 2019 until August 9, 2019, all qualifying stays count towards this offer. A qualifying stay is any stay of one of more consecutive nights at an Choice Hotel. This means a weekend stay of two nights at an EconoLodge is not two stays but one. If you went back on the Tuesday to stay for another night, that would be an additional qualifying stay.

The great thing is, this isn’t a one and done deal. During the time period, you can earn bonus points at every second qualifying stay.
Gift Card Options
Gift card options are different, depending if you a resident of the United States or Canada. Americans can grab a $50 gift card for Amazon, Applebee’s, Best Buy, Chili’s, Apple App Store & iTunes, Kohl’s or Lowe’s.
For Canadian members, the options are a bit slimmer. Gift cards can be had from Hudson’s Bay, Esso Mobil, Apple iTunes, Best Buy or Starbucks.
