Air Canada

The national airline of Canada was founded in 1937 as Trans-Canada Air Lines. The name switched to Air Canada on January 1, 1965. Currently, there are 171 airliners in Air Canada’s fleet with 182 destinations worldwide.

The airline is headquartered at the Air Canada Centre, a seven story building located eight at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Air Canada is a founding member of the Star Alliance of airlines. Other founding members include Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways and United Airlines. There are a total of 27 airlines worldwide in the alliance with more wanting to get in.
